So, Season 4 of Vikings returns in only two weeks time! Who’s excited?
History have been kind enough to allow me access to the first three episode of Season 4B. While I cannot spoil anything, here’s the break down of what to expect in the Season 4 return.
- Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) is emo level depressed. And this is is infinitely better than the drug addicted Ragnar we saw in the first half of Season 4. The following trailer for Season 4 of Vikings has been released via History Channel and it leaves viewers wondering just how long Ragnar will survive when Season 4 returns.
For those of you who know their Viking history, know Ragnar did not traditionally die this way. However, considering History Channel have changed many of the traditional stories in Vikings, fans need to tune into the Season 4 return to find out if or when Ragnar dies.
Regardless of the event in the above video, Ragnar still manages to get hated by everyone in Kattegat, check up on Lagertha (for those shipping Ragertha, there is a kiss involved, how serious it really is, I cannot divulge) and organise for him and Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen) to travel to England in order to approach King Ecbert (Linus Roache) about that Viking settlement he obliterated.
- Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), when not kissing Ragnar, is getting ready to settle a score with his current wife, Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland). This is a cat fight I have been waiting months to see! Viewers also get a chance to meet Lagertha’s new love interest, Astrid (Josefin Asplund). While everything seems completely loving between Lagertha and Astrid, call it my spidey senses, but I wonder just how long they will last. Hopefully, it doesn’t go the way of Lagertha’s last serious relationship with Kalf (Ben Robson).
- Ivar the Boneless is fricking awesome in the Season 4 return of Vikings. I never thought I would manage to love a character that killed a small child, but Michael Hirst and History have won me over. The Season 4 return deals with Ivar being crippled, yet a Viking man. He has to battle his way out from underneath his mother’s apron strings, and, luckily, Ragnar is there to offer support when he needs it (both metaphorically and literally).
- Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) is still totally obsessed with travelling to the Mediterranean. Luckily Floki (Gistaf Skarsgard) and Helga (Maude Hirst) are too. The problem is though, Bjorn has to ask his Uncle Rollo (Clive Standen) for safe passage. Will Rollo continue to be the arsehole he usually is or let Bjorn pass? I can’t say, but for those of you who are hoping Rollo gets his own dose of karma in regard to betraying his Viking kin, he does. Sort of.
